Gail Miller, your acupuncture practitioner, is here to help you heal your emotional and physical pain.
I have been in private practice since 1999. Before becoming an acupuncturist, I was a Shiatsu and massage therapist, and now have over 30 years of health care experience.
I am currently licensed to practice acupuncture in VA , and I am nationally certified by the NCCAOM. My Masters degree is in acupuncture; my BA is in counseling and social services. My Chinese Herbal studies were completed at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute, now known as the Maryland Institute of Integrative Health. I studied joint and muscular disorders at the Guang An Men Hospital in Beijing, China. I also served a six months apprenticeship in Western herbs with Pam Montgomery of Partner Earth Sweetwater Santuary, in Vermont
Gail is professionally trained in the latest techniques and products. Her service and dedication to her clients is unsurpassed.
While living in Philadelphia, PA., I worked at a busy physical therapy clinic, treating pain and trauma from falls, auto accidents, and sports injuries. I was also a clinic supervisor for senior acupuncture students at the WON Institute of Graduate Studies in Glenside, PA .
Besides treating pain and injuries, much of my practice has been devoted to women's health care, successfully treating menstrual problems, fertility, menopause., and anxiety and depression.
I am an avid gardener and lived for 10 years in rural New Hampshire with a wood stove, chickens, and a huge veggie and herb garden from which I made my own herbal tinctures and medicinal teas. Before joining the health care community, I was a free lance commercial artist and I lived and traveled extensively in Mexico and South America. My watercolors of the beaches and markets have sold well. I now live on Chincoteague Island with a much smaller herb garden and my three cats, Minky and Milton, and Wally.
